The HCFS mission is to encourage discovery through visual storytelling – creating experiences that educate, inspire and engage. In 2017, to expand our educational outreach and capitalize on film industry professionals being in Fredericksburg during the annual Hill Country Film Festival, we created an initiative called Focus on Film.

 

Focus on Film puts filmmakers or a panel of filmmakers in local classrooms to speak with students on a variety of visual arts topics (screenwriting, acting, independent filmmaking, etc.) during the festival. The first year of Focus on Film was warmly received by school administrators and students alike and we are thrilled to continue the opportunity for local students to learn firsthand from filmmaking professionals.
